Quick reminder that we’re hoping to get enough players for a couple new events over the next two weeks:
2 Man Combo Event this Saturday 6/22 – Tee Times between 10am-12pm
**Six holes of best ball – each play your own ball and take the best net score – you receive a stroke on designated handicap holes just as you would in a league round for these six holes.
**Six holes of alternate shot – designate how will tee off on holes the even numbered holes and odd numbered holes.
**Six holes of scramble – take the best shot from both players, play from that location, and continue in that fashion until the ball is holed. Must use at least two drives from each player.
2 Man Alternate Shot Shootout on Sunday 6/30 at 3pm
– This was our most popular event back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. We’d have a beverage cart out with the group and encourage the eliminated teams to stick around until the finish.
**Designate which player will tee off on the even and odd numbered holes. There will be a team handicap (70% player A + 30% player B). Those without an official handicap are welcome as I can create a daily handicap.. Example being: Player A is a 3 and Player B is a 10. 3×0.7 = 2.1 which rounds to 2. 10×0.3 = 3.. That team would be a 5 in the game. The lowest team handicap would round down to 0 as each hole starts and we’d adjust accordingly for the remaining teams still in the mix based on the handicap of the hole being played. It sounds confusing but really isn’t. And we’ve got Rausch, Jr. to keep us updated!!
A burger, brat or hot dog off the grill and chips plus a beverage are included in this event. There will be some decent prizes for our best finishers, so I encourage anyone not signed up to get a hold of me.
We will also be bringing back a Club Championship this summer. I’d like to get 16 players for a NET Club Championship. We’ll try it NET for the first season and if we have any interest in a straight up competition we can chat about that down the road. See the signup sheet in the Clubhouse for that. Those matches would begin the second week of July and allow for a week to be completed. A coin-flip would be used in a worst-case scenario.
